How the Pandemic Has Altered Expectations of Remote Work

With the pandemic forcing the closure of many working spaces, the home has turned into the office for many workers. Morning Consult conducted a survey of current remote workers and adults who are able to work remote, exploring their preferences and experiences with remote work, comfort with returning to an office setting and how the change to working from home has affected their routines, purchasing habits and future plans.

Key Findings:

  • Americans who are working remote during the pandemic have had largely positive experiences.

  • More than three quarters of the surveyed Americans have expressed they'd like to continue working remote at least once a week.

  • Nearly a third of current remote workers say they won't return to the office until a COVID-19 vaccine is available.

  • Flexible work options will be crucial for companies as employees will expect to work remotely more.
