- Morning Consult’s Index of Consumer Sentiment continued to diverge across the Americas in May, with confidence trending lower in Canada, the United States and Chile; remaining stable in Mexico and Brazil and increasing in Colombia and Peru.
- Freefall in European consumer confidence induced by the war in Ukraine has largely stabilized with consumers in France and Russia demonstrating surprising resilience.
- Chinese consumers grew more concerned about their personal finances and business conditions in the country in May, adding to the consistent downward trend in confidence that began in November 2021.
